Friday Night Fights 8-Man Tournament

Eight Men Enter, One Man Leaves
Broad St. Ballroom, New York City

The night was record-breaking for several notable reasons, the least of which was the 105 degree temperatures in downtown Manhattan. Inside the Ballroom, the A/C was pumping alongside the beats and the swelling crowd buzzed with chatter about the night to come:
“Will Rigel show all he’s got?”
“LeGrand or Sheridan? What about the underdogs, Huang and Edgerton?”
“Where is this kid Mauceri from? ...they have Muay Thai up there???”

All questions would be answered by nights’ end. So now let me, your humble narrator, take you through the action.

Showdown - 1st Anniversary

TaKeOn Productions celebrated their first birthday this Sunday afternoon, at the 7 Train Theater in Queens this afternoon. The timing lent a strange mood to the crowd collected in the darkened club, and it took a lot to get them out of their seat and cheering, but that didn’t stop the fighters from leaving everything they had in the ring and putting on some amazing performances. Announcer "Diamond" Dave Diamante was looking sharp in a shiny silver suit, and the ring girls were dazzling. The crowd was looking forward to a night of equally shining and dazzling Muay Thai action, featuring a lot of local favorites and tough out of town challengers.

TaKe-On's 8-Man Tournament

A Night That Made Men into Warriors, and Warriors into Champions

As if the 8-man Tournament wasn’t enough to draw out every red-blooded Muay Thai fan in the NYC Tri-State Area, the boys at TaKe-On Productions padded the line-up with three scheduled Superfights, rematches involving some of the most popular fighters from the US’s East Coast, and Canada. The card promised a night of action hot enough to rival the heat-wave that had settled over NY, and it definitely delivered the heat and some powerful storms.
